About Hen and Pear’s Soaps

My vision for launching Hen and Pear has been developing for several years, but it was truly sparked by a recent trip to Peru. There, I was deeply inspired by the rich Peruvian culture and their profound connection to the land. Observing how attuned the locals are to agriculture and their environment motivated me to cultivate more of my own food. This experience encouraged me to embrace a lifestyle that harmonizes with nature and fosters a greater reliance on the land. After returning to Austin, Texas, I became aware of how many products I was using were heavily processed or contained questionable chemicals. This prompted me to seek safer alternatives for my cosmetics, detergents, and soaps. In my search, I discovered castile soap and its rich history, which inspired me to create my own line. I began to search for replacements to my cosmetics, detergents, and soaps. In my search, I discovered Castile Soap and the rich history of its origin. The majority of items you may find in my shop are liquid castile soaps which I craft in small batches in my kitchen. I’ve meticulously tried to keep ingredients as local and organic as possible and clean from plastics (absence of parabens, sulfates, and other harmful chemicals, etc.) so I bottle them in glass.

Hen and Pear cherishes the wisdom of ancient practices and aims to demonstrate that sometimes, the wisdom of the past outshines even the most cutting-edge modern innovations.
